About Hoffmann Architects
Hoffmann Architects is a specialty architectural and engineering firm driven by details. We have built a reputation for excellence by resolving building exterior distress at major symbols of the country’s architectural heritage, such as the Chrysler Building, the United States Capitol building, the New York Stock Exchange, and the Smithsonian Institution. Our technical staff is known for their attention to seemingly small details that can make a big difference in the life of a building. We aim to be the best in our niche field--and we take pride in our work.
We generally keep regular business hours and are home in time to have dinner with family, catch the game, or meet up with friends. With nearly 50 people spread out in three offices (CT, NY, and VA), we strive to maintain a tight community. Every Friday we end work a little early to enjoy “happy hour” together. We also gather for bowling competitions, summer family picnics, and winter holiday parties to get to know our coworkers, whether in another state or at the next desk.
Being part of a team that does something few other firms do and even fewer do well is remarkably fulfilling. Our work is second to none because our people believe we’re the best at what we do.
The Manhattan office is headed by Senior Vice President and Director of Architecture, Craig A. Hargrove, AIA, LEED AP. Craig has over 30 years of experience in building envelope remediation with more than 20 of those years at Hoffmann Architects. He puts his architecture degree from the New York Institute of Technology to work as he and his staff address the complex building envelope challenges of a busy metropolitan area.
Vice President and Director of Architecture, Juan A. Kuriyama, AIA, is responsible for the diagnosis and resolution of building system distress. In his 23 years with the Firm, he has been recognized for his expertise by both Spanish and English publications. Juan earned architecture degrees from Ricardo Palma University in Lima, Peru and from Pratt Institute in New York.
The remainder of the staff is comprised of a blend of experienced architects, structural engineers, and rising professionals, all of whom are accomplished in the field and energetic about current and future projects at the office.
